Al-Kathiri said, “The passing of this inspiring leader represents a great loss at a time when we are still in dire need of his wisdom, values, and political and militant school. Today, in light of the increasing challenges, we must remember the lives of the freedom fighters, foremost among them Amin Saleh, to confront attempts to circumvent the will of the people of the South and weaken their cause.”
For his part, the son of the deceased, Mustafa Amin Saleh, delivered a speech in which he thanked everyone who contributed, supported, and attended the commemoration of this anniversary. He affirmed his commitment to continuing the path of struggle charted by his father, praying for mercy and forgiveness for him and for all the southern martyrs.
The son of the deceased said: “We are at a critical stage in the history of the South, as the Council must be seriously prepared to lead the struggle with our brothers in the North with full responsibility and competence. We must also pay great attention to the governorates of Hadhramaut, Al-Mahra, and Shabwa by selecting effective revolutionary tools dedicated to this goal.”
The ceremony concluded with presenting a documentary film that covered prominent moments in the life of the deceased, from his birth until his death, including the stages of his struggle since 1994, and his contributions to building the Southern Independence Project.
