Advisor of Foreign Affairs for Transitional Council meets head of Political Affairs of Office of UN Envoy
The Advisor of the President of the Southern Transitional Council for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Dhalea, met on Sunday, with Mr. Marwan Ali, Head of the Political Affairs Section of the Office of the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Yemen Martin Griffiths, in the capital Aden,.
The meeting discussed the Riyadh agreement signed by the Southern Transitional Council and the Yemeni government, and the stages of its implementation, and the obstacles of implementing its terms and the efforts that the United Nations can make to overcome these difficulties, stressing on the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the sponsor of the agreement and its efforts made to implement the Agreement.
Dr. Al-Dali reaffirmed the commitment of the Southern Transitional Council to the agreement and the implementation of its obligations, while there is no indication of the government’s commitment to the agreement or its desire to implement it.
For his part, the Head of the Political Affairs Section in the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations pointed out to the importance of the Riyadh Agreement and the keenness of the United Nations to implement it.
