Advisor to President Al-Zubaidi for women’s affairs holds a meeting with southern women leaders

The advisor to the President of the Southern Transitional Council for women’s affairs, Dr. Najwa Fadl, on Tuesday, held a meeting in the capital, Aden, with southern women leaders.

The meeting, in which was attended by Ms. Yasmine Musaed, Head of the Women and Children Department in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, and Ms. Aisha Talib, Head of the Women and Children Committee in the National Assembly, discussed ways to empower and enhance the presence of southern women on the national scene in the political, economic, social and cultural fields through her involvement in the societal struggle and participation in political decision-making.

The advisor to the President of the Transitional Council stressed the importance of highlighting the role of southern women through the formation of the General Union of Southern Women, explaining the importance that this entity will gain in women’s circles, and the reflection of its activities and successes on all international reports.

The president’s advisor listened to the intervention of the head of the Preparatory Committee for the General Union of Southern Women, Nada Obli, as well as the documentation committee regarding the formation of the General Union, while the discussion revolved around the reality of southern women, their needs and priorities, and the obstacles that stand in the way of their political participation.
