Al-Beidh: The Houthi escalation in the Red Sea hinders the peace process
SMA NEWS – GENEVA
Amr Al-Beidh, the Special Representative of the President of the Southern Transitional Council, said that there is a road map for regional cooperation that the UN envoy to Yemen is trying to put on the table.
He pointed out in media statements that the problem is the escalation by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in the Red Sea, stressing that the escalation makes it difficult to return to the signing of the road map.
He stressed that reaching an agreement requires not strengthening the militia, and guarantees that there will be no return to escalation in the Red Sea, before heading towards the political process.
