Al-Gaadi Lauds Struggling and Leading Role of Women of the South

Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and deputy of the secretary general, lauded the struggle and leading role of women of the South, along with men, in achieving the history of the South.
It took place during the meeting with the political activist and media member, Ms. Radhia Shamsheer, on Monday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in the capital, Aden. As Al-Gaadi pointed out, there is a need for this generation to benefit from the expertise and experience of southern women in the past and to learn about the heroism and prowess with which southern women revealed ability and originality in struggle for the people and the homeland, affirming that the STC has launched the slogan that the South will only be with and for all its people. Therefore, the history of the South is for and by all its people, both women and men.
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the affairs of women, stressing the importance of celebrating and honouring the struggling southern women, and in this regard, the meeting approved the formation of a specialised committee to arrange a celebrating event to honour the most prominent women fighters to coincide with the celebrations of the people of the south, the 55th anniversary of the National Independence Day of the South on the glorious November 30th.
For her part, Ms. Shamsheer applauded the STC’s keenness towards southern women and their issues, stressing the importance of paying attention to southern women, empowering them, and appreciating their efforts and struggles for the sacrifices and heroisms they displayed throughout the history of the South.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Basem Mansoor, head of the media department in the General Secretariat of the Presidium of the STC, a member of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), and Ms. Yasmin Musaed, deputy head of the Woman and Child Department in the General Secretariat.
