Al-Gaadi Meets the Political Consultant of Griffith to Discuss the Southern Cause and Deterioration of Economic Conditions

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Mr. Fadl Al-Gaadi, acting secretary general of the Southern Transitional Council and member of the presidency, met Mr. Mohamed Khater, the political consultant of UN envoy to Yemen, Mr. Martin Griffith, at the headquarters of the council in Aden.
Al-Gaadi thanked Mr. Khater for his visit and continuous communication with the council as part of UN efforts to end the war and solve political issues of the Yemeni crisis and on top of them the southern cause.
Al-Gaadi and Khater discussed international efforts for gathering political parties of the Yemeni crisis to reestablish the political process and end the war. In addition, they discussed deteriorated living conditions and high prices in the south especially with the collapse of the national currency that negatively affected the living conditions of citizens.
Khater asserted that UN envoy is eager to solve the southern cause as UN realizes the role of the southern people in the war equation in Yemen. He added that UN envoy expects the southern transitional council to play an effective role in helping UN to find peaceful settlements to end the war and establish permanent peace.
Al-Gaadi indicated that the council is eager to make UN effort successful as the council includes most southern political components and is still working on opening dialogue with the remaining southern components who believe in the southern cause. This is to create a unified southern platform that excludes none of the southern components and represent the southern cause in any upcoming negotiations and talks.
