Al-Ghaithi: Referring to support of unity does not serve cohesion of the Presidential Leadership Council

SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commissionو Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, said that the reference of some ambassadors of the countries sponsoring the political process to support “Yemeni unity” does not serve the cohesion and strength of the Presidential Leadership Council.

Al-Ghaithi stressed that the Presidential Leadership Council was built on the basis of a “partnership”, and this partnership did not define an agreed-upon “political project” or “political system” as a final solution.

The leader in the Southern Transitional Council considered that repeating this position is completely contrary to the obligations of international actors towards the Leadership Council and legitimacy, and is considered a real undermining of this partnership, adding that this partnership cannot cancel “legitimate aspirations and issues” and at the forefront is the “issue of the people of the south.”

The head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission of the Presidential Leadership Council noted that the continuation of this confusion will not weaken or cancel anyone’s aspirations, but will weaken the partnership itself.

Al-Ghaithi continued: “If we had agreed on (unity) or any other project, we would not have had the “Riyadh Agreement” and the parity government, and the “declaration of the transfer of power”, the leadership council, the consultation committee, the military committee, and others … These are issues that are decided by the negotiation table and the peace process. Therefore, the continuation of attempts to jump on reality and facts is nothing but a waste of time.
