[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Al-Arabia Al-Yemenia – Al-Hodeida – Follow-ups [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Brigadier Abd Al-Salam Al-Shuhy, commander of the Arab Coalition troops in the west coast, announced on Tuesday June 19th, 2018 that Al-Houthis suffer hundreds of killings since the beginning of battels with more than 250 killings and 87 captives during the airport liberation operation. Commander of the Arab Coalition troops in the west coast indicated that liberation of the airport was done with participation of Southern Giants Brigades and backup of the Arab Coalition. He confirmed that full control over the airport and clearing it completely.
Al-Shuhy indicated that Al-Houthis are using civilians as human shields as Al-Houthi tanks stationed in a civilian house and bombed the airport. He asserted that Arab Coalition troops target only military targets avoiding any civilian ones. He added that humanitarian aids will reach Al-Hodeida in synchrony with military operations according to previously prepared plans adding that liberating the airport is part of an inclusive plan for liberating the whole city.
Al-Hodeida City:
Brigadier Raid Al-Habhy, commander of the first Giants Brigade, indicated that his troops are waiting for zero hour to enter the city during the next few days after successful liberation of the strategic airport as the military operation is launched in phases.
In an interview at the airport, Al-Habhy indicated that Giants troops started clearing Al-Hodeida airport from land mines after controlling it. He added: “During the next few days, we will advance to Al-Hodeida and then to Sanaa and everywhere in Yemen to clear it from Al-Houthi – Iranian terrorist militias”.
Al-Hodeida Seaport:
It is noteworthy that Yemeni Joint Resistance Troops are now 10 km from al-Hodeida seaport, the main target of military and humanitarian operations. This will clear the way to an even bigger strategic target which is clearing Yemen from terrorism of Iranian militias.
The airport is to the south of the city that oversee the Yemeni west coast. It includes a 3 km run way and a military air base. It is about 10 km from Al-Hodeida seaport. This makes the airport’s location very strategic for liberating the seaport.
Liberating the airport comes in a wider operation for restoring Al-Hodeida city and its strategic seaport that is supposed to receive humanitarian and medical aids for millions of Yemenis in the north.
