Al-Jaadi and Shatara discuss with Center for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva ways to coordinate to bring peace

The Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, member of the Council Presidency, Mr. Fadl Mohammed Al-Jaadi, and Mr. Lutfi Shatara, member of the Presidency of the Council, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly, met on Thursday, at the Secretariat headquarter in Aden the Capital, delegation of the Humanitarian Dialogue Center in Geneva, headed by Mr. Roman Grandjan, regional official for the Middle East and North Africa, and Mr. Francis Ward, director of Yemen and Gulf Countries Program at the Centre.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Jaadi welcomed the delegation of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue, and the efforts made by the Center in mediating between the conflicting parties, providing an overview of the suffering of the South and the sacrifices that the southerners have made and are still making in the face of all the armed war and economic and services war they are exposed to, stressing that all of this only increased their determination to get their legitimate aspirations.

Al-Jaadi reiterated the Transitional Council’s adherence to the Riyadh Agreement and the need to implement all its provisions, noting that the people of the South are the ones who fight on the fronts and that the people of the South suffer from several crises, and that final solutions must be reached to what the South and its people are exposed to, wishing success for the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue in its efforts to bring peace and stability.

For his part, Mr. Lutfi Shatara expressed his happiness with the presence of the Humanitarian Dialogue Center delegation in the capital, Aden, wishing that the center’s efforts would contribute to ending the conflict and reaching a peaceful solution, stressing that the Transitional Council, which is authorized by the people of the South and the official carrier of its cause, has always sought peaceful solutions and avoided war, through commitment to peaceful agreements, foremost of which is the Riyadh Agreement.

Shatara stressed the need to implement the Riyadh Agreement with all its provisions as a single package without selection in all its aspects, including the military and service sectors, especially with the suffering of the people due to the crises in economy and services.

The meeting discussed ways of coordination and joint cooperation between the Humanitarian Dialogue Center and the Southern Transitional Council to bring peace through constructive dialogue.

For his part, Mr. Roman Grandjan presented an overview of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva and the activities it carries out to end conflicts in different countries, expressing his appreciation for Al-Jaadi and Shatara for the good reception, hoping that the dialogues conducted by the Center will lead to tangible results to end the conflict in the country.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Mohammed Al-Abadi, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Council, and Abdul-Fattah Al-Shaeri, Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, and Raafat Saleh Abdul-Hamid, Head of the International Organizations Section at the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Council.
