Al-Jaadi inaugurates training workshop organized by “Friedrich Ebert” and Hemaya Center for members of Security Belt

Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, inaugurated on Tuesday, the second training workshop to build the capacities of members of the Security Belt and Criminal Investigation in “Human Rights and the Rights of Detainees”, which was organized by the German Friedrich-Ebert-Stevening Foundation (FES) in cooperation with Hemaya Center For Human Rights, under the auspices of the Southern Transitional Council and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in the capital, Aden.
At the inauguration of the workshop, which was attended by Dr. Saleh Al-Marfadi, Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Legal Committee of the Transitional Council, Head of the Legal Department in the General Secretariat, Mr. Fadl Al-Jaadi delivered a speech in which he explained the importance of the workshop for members of the Security Belt and Criminal Investigation, given their role in protecting the principles of human rights that have always been espoused and confirmed by the Southern Transitional Council.
In his speech, Al-Jaadi stressed that the Transitional Council is keen to cooperate with everyone who works within the framework of the law, and works hard to deal with international institutions and systems that work for human rights in all transparency, based on ethics before anything else, and from the principles of the southern cause that we are fighting for.
Al-Jaadi concluded his speech by emphasizing the need to preserve and protect human rights, wishing success for the participants in this workshop and to make the most of what is being presented to implement it on the ground.
Achim Vogt, Regional Director of the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Head of the Regional Program for Peace and Security in the Middle East of the Foundation, delivered a speech in which he welcomed Al-Jaadi and the rest of the attendees of the participants and organizers, stressing the honor and happiness of Friedrich Ebert Foundation for the cooperation with the Southern Transitional Council and Hemaya Center For human rights to hold this important training workshop.
In his speech, Mr. Fugit gave an overview of the history and tasks of the German Friedrich Foundation’s work and its broad relations, stressing its keenness to work to preserve human dignity and human rights, especially in times of war, and thanked the Transitional Council and its leadership for their tireless pursuit and outstanding concern for the field of human rights.
On the first day of the three-day workshop, participants from the Security Belt, Criminal Investigation and Prisons Authority received an introductory explanation of the terms and concepts related to human rights in general and the rights of detainees in particular, and they also learned about the human rights aspects and humanitarian controls related to jobs. security, and how to apply it on reality in their work.
The inauguration of the training workshop was attended by Dr. Wahib Khadabakhsh, Secretary-General of Hemaya Center for Human Rights, Mr. Mahmoud Kayah, Acting Non-Resident Representative and Program Director of the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation, and Ms. Mayada Al-Baydani, Director of Youth and Women Programs at the Foundation.
