Al-Kaf discusses with Corona Response Committee preparations to confront second wave of the virus

Eng. Adnan Mohammad Al-Kaf, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Chairman of the Relief and Humanitarian Action Committee of the Council, met on Monday, with the Council’s Corona Response Committee, headed by Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi.
In the meeting, Eng. Adnan Al-Kaf welcomed the members of the committee, conveying to them greetings of President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Transitional Council, and his high appreciation for the efforts made by the committee in confronting this deadly epidemic.
The meeting was attended by the Director of Health Office in Aden the capital, Dr. Ali Abdullah Saleh, in which it discussed the urgent plan to prepare and be ready to face the second wave of the outbreak of the new Corona virus “Covid-19”.
The meeting reviewed the status of public health in the capital Aden, and the readiness of hospitals and isolation and quarantine centers to receive infected and suspected cases of the virus.
The meeting touched on the role of hospitals in implementing the plan of conducting screening processes for potential cases prior to transferring them to isolation centers, in addition to the coordination mechanism between hospitals and isolation centers, epidemiological surveillance and rapid response teams in the districts, and international organizations working in this aspect, and between the Corona Response and Relief and Humanitarian Committees in the council, in a way that ensures that everyone can play the role assigned to him to implement the plan.
Adnan Al-Kaf stressed the importance of gathering efforts of all, and that each side should carry out its responsibilities and mission to make the plan succeed and achieve its desired goals.
In the meeting, Al-Kaf stressed the need to work with safety measures for the staff working in hospitals and isolation centers, to create an effective community partnership, and to activate the educational and awareness aspects of the disease and how to prevent it and contribute to limiting its spread.
The meeting came out with a number of decisions aimed at raising readiness, before entering into the actual implementation of the next plan to confront the second wave of the Corona virus, according to the available capabilities.
