Al-Kathiri chairs a joint meeting of leaders of STC, leadership of the local authority and security in the capital, Aden

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Chairman of the National Assembly, chaired a meeting on Monday, of leaders from the Transitional Council, the leadership of the local authority, community committees and security in the capital, Aden.

Al-Kathiri began the meeting, in which Fadi Hassan Baoum, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Professor Muhammad Al-Shaqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council, Brigadier General Ahmed Hassan Al-Marhabi, Head of the Security Department of the Council, and Professor Mukhtar Al-Yafei, Vice President of the National Authority for Southern Media, participated, with a speech in which he welcomed the leadership of the local authority, community committees and security, praising the complementary role of the departments and agencies of the local authority in the capital to serve citizens, address their issues, consolidate security and stability, and maintain public tranquility.

During the meeting, which included the Secretary-General of the Local Council in the capital Aden, Badr Muawin, Major General Mutahhar Al-Shuaibi, Director of Security of the capital Aden, Brigadier General Ali Al-Namri, Director-General of the Community Committees Department, and the directors of the directorates in the capital Aden, Al-Kathiri stressed the need to increase the pace of field work and double efforts, and deal with citizens’ issues responsibly in light of the current difficult conditions and deteriorating services, and to work first to evaluate the performance of offices, institutions and agencies and develop them to overcome the negative consequences of the failure of successive governments, in addition to confronting the acts of sabotage behind which are illegal forces hostile to the capital Aden and the south, reiterating in the same context the Council’s support for the right to peaceful and civilized demonstration for all, in a way that expresses legitimate demands without prejudice to public interests. The meeting reviewed a number of developments in the current situation in the service and security aspects in the capital, Aden, and the level of dealing with urgent and possible priorities for stabilizing and improving services, establishing security and stability, confronting current challenges, stopping violations, and addressing problems as soon as possible according to available capabilities, and supporting the efforts of the local authority to normalize life and general conditions in the capital, Aden, in coordination with all security agencies and executive bodies of the Transitional Council in the directorates.
