Al-Kathiri commends the efforts of the Ministry of Endowments and Guidance in organizing the Hajj season and stresses the importance of rationalizing religious preaching discourse

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Tuesday, at his office in the capital, Aden, with Sheikh Anwar Al-Amri, Deputy Minister of Endowments and Guidance.
During the meeting, Al-Kathiri was briefed by Sheikh Al-Amri on the administrative and organizational performance of the Ministry of Endowments and its offices in the liberated governorates, and the facilities and services provided to pilgrims and Umrah performers. He praised the ministry’s remarkable successes in organizing this year’s Hajj season and expressed his appreciation for the efforts made in early preparations for the upcoming Hajj season.
The Acting President of the Council also listened to a detailed explanation of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to rationalize religious preaching and correct its course in line with tolerant Islamic values and the principles of moderation and balance.
In this context, Al-Kathiri stressed the importance of strengthening direct supervision over mosques and regulating the work of religious and advocacy centers in the capital, Aden, and the rest of the southern governorates. This will ensure their adherence to applicable regulations and controls, and contribute to unifying religious discourse and directing it toward serving community issues.
Al-Kathiri emphasized the need to adopt a moderate, enlightening discourse that enhances community awareness and combats extremism, fanaticism, and isolation. He called for effective partnerships between various relevant parties to achieve this goal, reiterating the Council’s support for all institutional efforts aimed at strengthening the role of advocacy and guidance in national and social development.
Al-Kathiri called on local and security authorities to cooperate with the Ministry of Endowments in carrying out its work, particularly with regard to direct supervision of mosques and enabling the Ministry to access endowment lands in all liberated governorates, thus contributing to strengthening its service and advocacy role.
For his part, Sheikh Anwar Al-Omari expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, represented by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, for the great support and attention he gives to the Ministry’s work and tasks. He emphasized that the Ministry continues to implement its programs according to clear plans aimed at instilling the values of moderation and tolerance in religious and advocacy discourse and serving the citizenry.
