Al-Kathiri confirms STC’s interest in youth, enhancing their capabilities and empowering them politically

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Chairman of the National Assembly, affirmed the Council’s interest in the youth segment, developing their skills, and enhancing their capabilities to enable them to reach decision-making positions.

This came during his meeting on Sunday, with the Head of the General Assembly of the Political and Human Rights Forum for Youth, Marwan Al-Shaeri, the Secretary-General of the Forum, Abdulaziz Ahmed, and a number of members of the General Secretariat, where he briefed them on the nature of the work of the Forum, which was recently announced last September, in partnership with the Madaniyya Center, the American Conflict (Civic), explaining the forum’s goals, and its programs to raise the political and legal awareness of young people and activate their role in various fields.

The Acting President of the STC also heard from Al-Shaeri about the activities that the forum is scheduled to implement during the coming period, and its plans to expand the list of its members, which it began by including 33 members from university students and graduates and male and female activists from various political and civil organizations and components in the southern governorates.

Al-Kathiri praised this important youth step, stressing support for youth of all orientations, activating their role in society, and enhancing communication and coordination with international institutions, which contributes to strengthening the capabilities of the youth of the South, scientifically and intellectually, away from institutions that target them for other partisan purposes.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Kathiri urged the Head of the forum and its members to intensify their efforts, and coordinate with southern youth initiatives and organizations, to enhance the presence of southern youth in the upcoming political stages, and to benefit from their scientific maturity in a way that serves their country and society.
