Al-Kathiri Gets Briefed on Progress of Work and Level of Achievement to Re-operate Aden Refinery

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met on Sunday, with Mr. Saeed Mohammed bin Mohammed, Deputy Executive Director of the Aden Refinery.
During the meeting, Al-Kathiri was briefed by Eng. Saeed on the progress of rehabilitation work at the refinery, ways and mechanisms to re-operate its operations to full capacity, as well as the efforts to complete the power station to supply the refinery, the pipeline network, and the maintenance work nearing completion, in addition to the various challenges facing reoperating the refinery to its former capacity.
Al-Kathiri stressed the need to redouble efforts to restore the refinery to its former position as a leading and vital economic asset, contributing to replenishing the hard currency reserves and helping to revive the economy.
Kathiri reaffirmed the STC’s commitment, under the leadership of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), to re-operating the refinery by placing it at the top of the matrix of urgent solutions to halt the economic decline, as approved in the special cabinet meeting chaired by President al-Zubaidi.
