SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, the official spokesman for the Council, reaffirmed that the Transitional Council represents the cause of the people of the South, based on the will of the southern people, historical and political facts that cannot be overlooked, and a reality on the ground that cannot be bypassed.
In an interview with the American magazine “News Week”, Al-Kathiri affirmed, “The Southern Transitional Council is ready to enter into any comprehensive negotiations that include an agreed-upon framework for the cause of the people of the South.”
Al-Kathiri added, “No one can pass or implement any unrealistic solutions, and the experience over the past decades is sufficient to avoid repeating inaccurate attempts. We and our people are able to thwart any attempt to bypass the cause of our people, and jump on their sacrifices.”
Regarding the Saudi-Iranian agreement to restore diplomatic relations between the two countries, the spokesperson for the Transitional Council explained, “We believe that dialogue, calm and peace between Riyadh and Tehran, and the resumption of diplomatic relations between them, will reflect positively on stability and peace in the region in general and will have a positive impact on advancing the peace process.” “But, on the other hand, he noted that welcoming the agreement is not an absolute act on the future of the solution in the South and Yemen.”
Al-Kathiri added, “It is a welcome to peace decision and the concept of calm, and without any doubt, we will have a clear and decisive position towards any negative repercussions that may result from the agreement on the national cause of our people.”
