[su_dropcap]D[/su_dropcap]r. Nasser Al-Khabji, member of the Southern Transitional Council’s presidency, and Dr, Aidarous Al-Naqueeb, chairman of the council’s department of foreign affairs, who participated in the consultative meeting of the Yemeni parliament held in Saudi Capital, Riyadh, delivered an important message to members of the parliament about the council’s attitude towards the current Yemeni crisis and views of solving the southern cause in addition to the future of relations between the two nations and two peoples.
The introduction said: “This is a friendly message to you hoping that you are responsible enough to take any decisions and attitudes that are consistent with the expectations of the two peoples of the north and south to save them from this exhaustive war they are suffering for more than four decades now”.
The message also expressed “warm thanks for the brothers of the Arab Coalition for their moral, financial and logistic support for our people in the face of the sectarian project supported by the Mullah state of Iran. In this respect, we deeply appreciate our brothers in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, his majesty the king, his highness, the crown prince and the Saudi people, for their commandership of the Arab Coalition and for all types of support to the legitimate organizations. Their hospitality in holding our meeting here is only one of many aspects of their support”.
The message asserted that “The southern people and all our powers support all efforts of his excellency President Abd Rabu Mansour Hady as a symbol and leader of the legitimacy in the face of the sectarian coup to restore the abducted state and its organizations in addition to treating the complex files as inherited legacy of incorrect path and de facto policies including the file of the southern cause that everyone knows what was said about and what was done to falsify and contain this cause. In this respect, we express our comfort for Rain Bow Consultations, held in Stockholm – Sweden, between the two delegations of the legitimacy and coups although these consultations didn’t touch the core of basic political files that represent the main cause of the current poor situation”.
The message also indicated that “We don’t need to prove to you that the policy of arrogance is the path that led us to these serious consequences that touched us all personally. Our meeting here in the exile is an extensive image of these painful consequences. The majority of the southern and northern peoples are sieged by starvation, epidemics and horror as part of their daily life due to arrogance, stubbornness and ignoring facts”.
The message asserted several facts summarized as follows:
• The southern cause is not the result of a technical mistake or misconduct of some leaders or officials. Instead, it is related to an inevitable failure of trying to unite the Arab Republic of Yemen and the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen as the leaders of the two republics took that risk without preparing the ground and bridging the severe gaps between the two regimens and the two peoples.
• We tried the Yemeni union with peace and failed. When the war came, some thought it was the end of history but the union by war failed too. Some forgot that the ashes of war held some flares that along time turn into another fire of another war that will break up some day.
• The multi-regions, and even the two regions, that some politicians tried to pass during the national dialogue, was far from the southern people’s expectations and their field leaders. This led to the dismantling and destruction of the state’s remains with widespread chaos and starvation in addition to the collapse of living and humanitarian conditions with more than 20 million at risk of starvation.
• The coup of September 2014 against Brigadier General Abd Rabu Mansour Hady and what followed it of invading the southern cities and governorates, killing, bloodshed, destruction and terror, increased the cycle of enmity and created more disruption and high walls between the two peoples. This clearly indicates the impossibility of insisting on the union project.
• After all these wars and bloodshed, after all this destruction of facilities, talking about union between the two states and two peoples is like talking about marriage between two persons who can barely smile at each other’s. these false hugs and smiles can never hide the pain and blood resulted from war.
• The failure of the union, by peace, invasion or even regionalization, asserts that the only option for the two peoples is the two-state option with two brother neighbors who can cooperate and coexist. This will ratify the historic mistake of 1990 project that died in its cradle because of the immature subjective and objective conditions and the hastiness and emotional impulsiveness.
The message also indicated “We noticed the great enthusiasm of many of you to hold an urgent session of the parliament in Aden, ignoring all the suffering of the people who were invaded and robbed in 1994 and sacrificed more than 10 thousand martyrs and injured in the face of official oppressive systems during the peaceful movement revolution and 2015 invasion. Many of you supported those people while others kept watching as if they don’t care for the southern people and southern land. Today, they are willing to go to those victims and dominate them again without even asking about the public reaction towards that from people who are still angry and sorry for what happened to Aden and all southern cities during the aggression. They didn’t think of the killing, devastation, destruction and suffering of those people.
The message called all “northern and southern members of the parliament to get out of this sanctification circle as the Yemeni union is not an idol to worship or a totem to sanctify. It is a human trial that may succeed or even fail. But all evidences indicated it failure. We have nothing to do but admitting this failure and trying to ratify it through returning to the situation preceding it. The two coexisting and cooperating Yemeni states are the solution. But sanctifying failure will only lead to more failure at the expense of upcoming generations that paid a heavy price already without doing nothing”.
The message asserted that “The policy of imposing union by force over people who resent it, suffer from its causes, sacrificed thousand of martyrs, injured, missing and captives to get rid of its disaster consequences, will never succeed no matter how much power its imposers have. At the same time, two coexisting states will serve, the northern, southern, regional and world interests. We assert you that as the southern people defeated the sectarian Iranian project and is supporting the legitimacy troops to liberate the west coast and Saada, will help you to build a strong civil state that is able to advance and deal with the current age according to its tools away from sectarian, class, tribal or doctrinal loyalties. We think that our brothers in the north deserve such a state with all its benefits that the world achieved centuries ago”.
The message demanded members of the parliament “To take a courageous historic decision that respects the rights of the two peoples in the north and the south of self-determination freely and away from all threats, pressures, blackmailing fraud and cheating as the only alternative is war, conflicts and deep hatred between the two peoples and two countries. This will make the two peoples more vulnerable to bloodshed, pain and wounds without any reason but arrogance, stubbornness and denying facts”.
The message ended with the indication that “Both the north and south reached the lowest levels of nearly all standards including corruption, poverty, hunger, accountability, law and order, epidemics, weapons, illegal detention, enforced disappearance, lack of organizations and deterioration of services. There no worse place than what we are in for any other country to compete about. No other country can beat us in our failure and collapse. How long will it take us to wake up and find out that we are chasing phantoms behind mirage.
