Al-Khubaji Discusses with NDI Endeavours to Establish Peace
SMA NEWS – BRUSSELS
Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit (NAU), discussed today, Tuesday, in his office in the capital, Aden, with the Director of the American National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Yemen, Ms. Kenza Aqertit, the tracks of the comprehensive political process and endeavors to bring peace.
Dr. Al-Khubaji lauded the efforts undertaken by the NDI in the entire region and around the world through its programs in supporting democracy, freedom, peace, and human rights.
Al-Khubaji reiterated the firm position of the STC in support of a lasting and comprehensive peace and that among its top priorities are resolving the cause of the people of the South and fulfilling their aspirations and legitimate right to restore the state of the South, touching on the positive position of the STC toward the Saudi-Iranian agreement and hoping that it will lead to bringing peace to the entire region.
Al-Khubaji pointed out that the terrorist Houthi militia gives a deaf ear to all regional and international calls for peace and wastes given opportunities to engage in the comprehensive political process and bring about peace efforts through its escalation and continuous aggression against civilians in Shabwa, Al-Dhalea, Yafe’a, Lahj, and Abyan.
In turn, Ms. Aqertit affirmed the interest of the NDI in boosting any negotiations that lead to a political solution and establishing a comprehensive and lasting peace in Yemen.
