Al-Khubaji discusses with the UN envoy to Yemen the implementation of Riyadh Agreement
Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, head of the Transitional Council team in the Joint Committee to follow up on the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, received the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Nations United Martin Griffiths, and his deputy Mr. Moeen Shreim.
During the meeting, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji briefed Mr. Martin Griffiths about the progress of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, and the commitment of the Southern Transitional Council to implement the entire terms of the agreement in accordance with its hierarchy and chronology.
Al-Khubaji assured Mr. Martin Griffiths that the Southern Transitional Council implemented its withdrawals, delivery of heavy weapons, the release of prisoners, and securing the work of the government in Aden, and still waiting for government forces to implement mutual withdrawals from Abyan and Shabwa and proceed to agree to appoint a governor and director to Aden security, and release the prisoner Mohammad Ahmad al-Faidhi, who remains in government prisons.
For his part, Mr. Martin Griffiths confirmed that he hopes to accelerate the implementation of the terms of the Riyadh Agreement and the formation of the new government and then reach the formation of the negotiating delegation to ensure the start of negotiations for the comprehensive political process.
