Al-Muharrami appreciates sacrifices of the people of Abyan in confronting terrorist organizations

Abdul Rahman Al-Muharrami, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council and member of the Presidential Leadership Council, on Saturday, held an expanded meeting with representatives of the local authority of Abyan Governorate, at the presidential palace in the capital, Aden.

In the presence of the Governor of Abyan, Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, Al-Muharrami appreciated the great sacrifices of the people of Abyan at all levels, in confronting the threat of terrorist organizations, and controlling smuggling operations and manifestations disrupting security and stability.

He pointed out the vital role of the governorate and its important location, with its climate diversity in the delta, coast, and mountains, its strategic agricultural stock, and the abundance of cadres and competencies needed at various levels.

Al-Muharrami reviewed the plans and programs of the local authority in various service and development sectors, efforts to address issues related to livelihood, ways to remove obstacles to stalled projects, and discuss mechanisms for resuming work.

In the meeting, the Head of Abyan University, the general directors of the districts, and the directors of the executive offices in the governorate reviewed the progress of their work and the difficulties in performing their duties, most notably the weakness of operational budgets.

Al-Muharrami stressed the joint coordination between the local authority and the executive offices in the governorate, and the concerted efforts between them to ensure development and prosperity for the governorate, and to achieve the highest efficiency in implementing tasks on the ground, expressing that the Presidential Leadership Council stands by the local authority in Abyan Governorate to meet the needs of citizens and solve the problems facing the work of the local authority.
