Al-Muharrami calls on the government to provide mechanisms to confront collapse of local currency

Abdul Rahman Al-Muharrami, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council and member of the Presidential Leadership Council, on Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, held a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak to discuss the results of his visit to Moscow.
Al-Muharrami reviewed the discussions held by Bin Mubarak in the Republic of Russia, and their hoped-for role in establishing security and peace, and advancing issues of common concern.
Al-Muharrami expressed that the Leadership Council stands by the government and enabling it to exercise its powers in accordance with the constitution and the law, and supports efforts to bring about real change, so that state institutions contribute to lifting the country from its current difficult situation.
He appreciated the government’s steps to correct defects in institutions, combat corruption, and improve services, most notably electricity service, as the holy month of Ramadan approaches and the summer season enters.
Al-Muharrami called for developing mechanisms to prevent the deterioration of the value of the local currency, developing revenues and providing cash liquidity to disburse the salaries of state employees on a regular basis, and activating the role of oversight agencies to protect state resources and public money from tampering.
For his part, the Prime Minister thanked the member of the Leadership Council for his support and assistance to the efforts of the government leadership, pledging to make every effort to live up to the trust and responsibility placed on it.
