Dr. Al-Shabhi discusses with US Agency for International Development its health support

Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi, Chairman of the Health and Environment Committee in the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Health, Population Sector, along with Dr. Ishraq Al-Sibai, Assistant Undersecretary of the Population Sector, and Dr. Rajaa Musaad, Director General of Al-Sadaqa Teaching Hospital, held a meeting with USAID.

In the meeting that was held at Al-Sadaqa Teaching Hospital in the capital, Aden, via video communication technology (Zoom), with the Director of the United States Agency for International Development, the agency reviewed its activities and interventions in the health sector and the role it could play in this regard.

For his part, Dr. Al-Shabhi discussed USAID interventions in the health and population sector, in which the local officials also reviewed the most important needs that are required to be provided to strengthen the health sector and improve the situation it is going through.

During the meeting, which included representatives of UNICEF and the World Health Organization, the importance of coordination between officials in the local health sector and USAID to implement interventions in a way that achieves the desired results and strengthens cooperation between the two parties was stressed.
