Al-Soqtri stresses importance of supporting departments with specialized young cadres for advancing institutional work

The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Soqtri, on Wednesday, chaired an expanded meeting included undersecretaries, heads of bodies, advisors and general managers in the agriculture and fisheries sectors of the ministry.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was devoted to discussing a number of issues related to the status of the agricultural and fisheries sectors in light of the circumstances that our country and the world in general are going through, including climate change crises, the food security crisis and other crises that represent current challenges that everyone should devote their efforts to avoiding the negative effects of these crises.

The meeting discussed the conditions that the ministry is going through and the inter-relations between the departments in the agricultural and fisheries sectors, as well as the measures taken by the ministry to overcome the various challenges it faces.
During the meeting, the Minister Al-Socotri pointed out the importance of cooperation and coordination between all relevant authorities within the framework of the Ministry and integration between them and the exchange of experiences and information to serve the work, stressing at the same time the importance of providing various departments with specialized young cadres to benefit from them in upgrading the institutional work of the Ministry.

The Minister, Al-Socotri, also noted the importance of benefiting from the support provided by our various local and international partners, stressing that the efforts of the Ministry, in light of the current government’s orientations, focus on benefiting from the support provided through various international, regional and local organizations.

The meeting also discussed the measures taken by the Ministry to regulate the process of agricultural and fishery exports and imports through the country’s ports.
Al-Socotri also stressed the need to double efforts and prepare well for the next stage, in which we look forward to implementing many sustainable and developmental agricultural and fishery works and projects in coordination with donor organizations and countries, which will push the wheel of progress and development forward, and will alleviate the suffering of citizens, improve their livelihoods, and enhance their food security, livelihoods and resilience.
