Al-Thaqali inaugurates an oxygen filling plant in Socotra

SMA NEWS – SOCOTRA
Raafat Al-Thaqali, Governor of Socotra, inaugurated on Sunday, an oxygen gas cylinder filling plant in the Public Health and Population Office in the archipelago, funded by the Islamic Development Bank through the World Health Organization.

The project came within 12 factories in various governorates within the framework of the (Covid-19) Combat Project, with a production capacity of up to 200 cylinders per day and an oxygen purity of 95%.

Al-Thaqali stressed that the opening of the factory gains its importance from securing the need of health and medical facilities for oxygen and that it is the problem of the shortage that the island suffers from, especially during the fall season, in light of the reliance on filling cylinders from outside the archipelago.

He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Health and its office in the governorate and their keenness to set the requirements of the health sector for the archipelago with the support of organizations to implement them and raise the level of health and medical readiness.
