Al-Yafe’y Meets with BBC Delegation and Lauds Presence to See Situation in the South

Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe’y, deputy head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met today, Thursday, in his office in the capital, Aden, with the media team of the BBC channel.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Al-Yafe’y conveyed the greetings of Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of NSMA, to the British media delegation and welcomed their current visit to the capital, Aden.

In the meeting, Al-Yafe’y indicated the significant role of Arab and international media institutions in conveying the true image of the security and stability enjoyed by the capital, Aden, and all the governorates of the South, in contrast to what is being promoted as a negative image, as well as conveying the voice and demands of the people of the South to the international community. In addition to the humanitarian violations that the people of the South have been subjected to since the Yemeni occupation, following the ill-fated and ill-planned unity in 1990.

NSMA’s deputy head added, “Indeed, we hope these international media delegations are going to the southern street to hear the southern voice and its aspirations and hopes for a prosperous future under the civil and federal state of the South.”

Al-Yafe’y asserted the readiness of NSMA to provide all facilities for Arab and foreign media delegations, praising its media presence to see the situation in the South and the country in general.

In turn, the BBC delegation valued the facilities provided by NSMA, which included field permission and encouraged work with full transparency.

The visiting delegation included Irish media editor Orla Ann Marie, Dutch producer Westex, and British photographer Hamdi Goktay.
