Al-Yafii stresses the importance of historical research in reshaping the southern awareness

Mukhtar Al-Yafii, Vice -President of the National Authority for Southern Media, stressed the importance of historical research in reshaping the southern awareness, stressing the need to write down the history of the south based on the facts and documents, and away from counterfeiting and fallacies of a political or phased nature.
This came during his meeting, at the authority’s headquarters in the capital, Aden, with researchers, Dr. Mahmoud Ali Mohsen Al-Salmi, and Dr. Nader Saeed Abadi Halboub, in the presence of a member of the National Media Authority, Lt. Col. Muhammad Al-Naqeeb.
At the meeting, Al-Yafii stressed the need to liberate the writing of the history of the south from political and ideological influences, stressing that southern history needs a scientific and objective reformulation that highlights its reality without distortion.
He explained that the current and future generations need a firm historical awareness, which makes these studies an active scientific reference in the formation of southern consciousness. He also praised the research and scientific efforts made by Dr. Al-Salmi and Halboub in the field of documenting the history of the south during the Middle Ages and contemporary.
For their part, the historians of Al-Salmi and Halboub expressed their thanks and appreciation for the leadership of the National Authority for Southern Media for its support and care for the southern historians and researchers, stressing the importance of this support in promoting the purity of scientific research and liberating the history of the south from the distortions and historical fallacies.
