Al-Zubaidi in an Interview with RT TV
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Moscow – Follow-ups[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] [su_dropcap]I[/su_dropcap]n an interview with RT TV, General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, president of the Southern Transitional Council, indicated that excluding the south and the southern cause from any negotiations will only lead to failure of such negotiations adding that the war broke when Al-Houthis initiated their coup and as a result of the so-called national dialogue outcomes.
Al-Zubaidi said: “We have major concerns about the Yemeni government as Muslim Brotherhood penetrated it. Therefore, we demand president Hady to reconsider it” adding that president Hady is the legitimate president and all components work under his authority but there is a decisive refusal of the parliament.
Al-Zubaidi indicated that the southern people control the ground, not the southern persons either in the legitimacy or in its parliament. In addition, he indicated that the situation is stable in Aden but some parties try to create chaos.
He added: “We came to Moscow to explain our cause as Russia is very close to the south and during the period from 19970 to 1990, we built the state of law and order in partnership with Russia. There is a great understanding from Russia”.
Concerning Al-Hodeida, he indicated that it is a delicate issue adding that Al-Houthis are trying to buy some time to rearrange their lines there.
He also asserted that the current war is the result of accumulations since 1994. As for the national dialogue outcomes, he said that the group that participated in it didn’t represent the southern movement although it withdrew later, while the Southern Transitional Council is completely southern organization adding that the council is not claiming perfection but it actually represents the southern will and opens dialogues with all other southern components.
Al-Zubaidi indicated that during the six wars launched against them, Al-Houthis recognized the south and called for fulfilling southern demands but after controlling Sanaa, Al-Houthis turned against the south and all other parties. But the south today is not the same as yesterday.
He added that UAE is an active partner in the Arab Coalition and is still playing a major and appreciated role in this respect and we all support this role. Saudi Arabia is the leader of the coalition. UAE is under wise commandership with clear strategic plans and we are their active partner and ally.
He also indicated that “Al-Eslah” party, the political arm of Muslim Brotherhood, proved its failure in all battlefields for four years. As for Taiz, we can see that one street is with Al-Eslah while the other is with Al-Houthis and not all the resistance there are loyal to Al-Eslah. He also added that the southern movement was formed before “The Storm of Determination” and the the south responded to the Storm of determination as a partner and ally.
