Al-Zubaidi Meets the US Research Team Headed by Former US Ambassador Gerald Firestein
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]P[/su_dropcap]resident Aidarous Kassem Al-Zubaidi of the Southern Transitional Council met the US research team headed by former US Ambassador to Yemen, Gerald Firestein, in the headquarters of Al-Tawahi. The team included 18 members who are all experts and researchers in strategic research institutes.
At the beginning, Al-Zubaidi welcomed the team in Aden, Capital of the South and expressed his wish that this visit will be first in a series of important visits in the future.
Al-Zubaidi delivered the message of the southern transitional council to the team asking them to tell the American people and US leadership to understand the right of the southern people to restore their state on the borders of May 21st, 1990.
President Al-Zubaidi asserted that the southern state is coming as a civil democratic state based on organizations and institutions. This state will be partner in maintaining security and stability of the region in addition to fighting terrorism. He added that the council is an active partner with the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia and UAE, in preventing the Iranian agenda and fighting coup forces of Al-Houthis in Yemen.
Mr. Firestein expressed his pleasure with the meeting and promised to deliver the council’s message to decision makers in UAS. He added that this visit will not be the last and similar meetings will be held in Aden or Washington to strengthen and maintain the relations between the two friendly peoples.
President Al-Zubaidi delivered members of the team several souvenirs at the end of the meeting.
