Al-Zubaidi to Reuters: The Battel of Al-Hodeida Will Not Stop Till the Whole City is Liberated and Any Negotiations Without Southern Representation is Circling in a Vicious Circle

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] General Aidarous Kassem Al-Zubaidi, president of the Southern Transitional Council, asserted that the campaign against Al-Houthis in Al-Hodeida, resumed this month after the failure of peace talks, won’t stop till the city is fully under control. He indicated that the Arab Coalition troops consider the safety of civilians in combat zones carefully.
In his interview with Reuters, Al-Zubaidi said: “For civilians, life is precious. The Arab Coalition troops, as backup troops who initiate air and naval strikes, are very considerate in that respect. But military operations started and will not stop again”. He added: “In any war, human suffering happens but we are looking for the post-liberation project in Al-Hodeida as this will be fully in favor of Al-Hodeida citizens”. He indicated that war isn’t over yet and Al-Hodeida battel is in progress.
Al-Zubaidi described military operations as “hit and run” as the “resistance” troops are fighting heroically. Al-Zubaidi rejects the hints about the aim of resuming military operations as to impose pressure on UN envoy in peace talks as he confirmed that he supports peace talks but they should include the southern party who controls the ground as any talks without the party that controls the ground is more like circling in a vicios circle. He added that talks should lead to a referendum of self-determination in the south.
