Al-Zubaidi: We Are Part of the Gulf. But if the Gulf Continues to Ignore Us We Will Have Our Own Choices
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] General Aidarous Kassem Al-Zubaidi, president of the Southern Transitional Council had a TV interview with Abu Dhabi TV. The following are the main point asserted by president Al-Zubaidi during the interview:
• Demonstrations are the right of the people because of poor living conditions, currency deterioration and government corruption.
• Adani citizens have no other sources of income except for their salaries. Even these salaries are not sufficient for living for one week. They are paid every 3-4 months. People will not surrender to death at their homes. We will defend our citizens by all means.
• We fully support these demonstrations and all demands of our southern people.
• We warned a lot about that. When a security commission of the Arab Coalition visited Aden, we told them that the government is torturing southern citizens and told them that dismissal of this government is the solution to save the people from torture and provide them with their rights.
• We are not the government. We don’t have resources. Legitimacy is responsible for what is happening as it controls resources and organizations.
• Our cause exists even before the Storm of Determination.
• We will never give up our cause nor our political rights under all conditions. Independence and restoring the state are basic principles and there will be no solution under this limit.
• We reach for President Hady, but not the current government, on condition that the Arab Coalition guarantees this. This is to improve poor living conditions of the people.
• We call for a Gulf initiative to deal with the current situation.
• Without the southern resistance and the southern transitional council, everything will collapse.
• We expect good deeds from the Arab Coalition. We appreciate their efforts and support them in defeating the Iranian project and success of the Arab project. But we assert to them that ignoring us will lead to no solutions.
• Meeting of the general secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council with the Yemeni government is not bothering us. But we assert to the council that marginalizing us will lead only to failure. This is reality.
• We received the invitation of UN envoy and met him. We told him any try to jump over us will only lead to his failure as it was the case of previous envoys.
• There is a new southern reality now. We are a major power on the ground. If UN envoy tries to ignore this fact he will not succeed in his pursuit of peace. All parties should understand that the time of ignoring the south has passed.
• We have several choices. We know the road to Al-Hodeida. We may enter it as a southern transitional council just to see UN ignoring us again.
• Parties moved by Iran and Qatar will never be part of the process. These parties should come inside first.
• Any northern resistance that targets Al-Houthis will be fully supported by us till they reach Sanaa. At that point everyone should deal with his own issues. We have our south and they have their north.
• Saudi Arabia supports the Central Bank of Yemen. Yet, Yemeni Riyal is in a very strange miss.
• If we want power we may not leave it. And if we want control this will not be that difficult.
• We sacrificed thousands of martyrs and tens of thousands of injured who are still in their homes without care. These sacrifices mean that we will never give up the goal to which we paid this price.
• People are in pain and misery. If conditions remained as it is, people may have to carry their weapons and defend themselves and their rights.
• No matter the results are, people will not be terrorized to surrender. There are some parties of the legitimacy supporting the return of terrorist groups to Aden and the south. We observe these parties carefully and indicators of this return.
