An Emirati Plane Full of Humanitarian Aids Arrives at Socotra

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Socotra – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] An Emirati plane carrying more than 40 tons of humanitarian, medical and food aids, arrived at Socotra on Saturday morning. The plane is the first of an air-born aids bridge prepared by UAE to help and support citizens of Socotra to recover from the consequences of Cyclone Mekunu that caused severe human and material loses.
Emirati aids are part of UAE efforts exerted since the very beginning to face the disaster of Cyclone Mekunu that hit the island through UAE humanitarian aids organizations on the island. These organizations helped in reopening roads and providing damaged citizens with food and shelter.
UAE Red Crescent and Khalifa Ben Zaid Organization helped in relieving citizens through relocating them in secure areas and providing them with food and blankets. In addition, they reopened blocked roads among damaged parts of the island that were isolated because of the cyclone. It is expected that other UAE planes and ships to arrive at Socotra carrying aids during the upcoming days.
