Arrest of a Dangerous Band Specialized in Stealing Money Transfer Receivers in Aden
Khour Maxar Police Department, under commandership of deputy Amjad Abd Al-Hameed, chief of police investigations, Mohamed Ben Mohamed, chief of interrogations, Gamal Thabet and police soldiers, with direct coordination with command and control of Aden Police Department, managed to arrest a dangerous band specialized in stealing liquid money received by citizens from banks of exchange companies in Aden.
Band members confessed during interrogations and gave full details of their operations, the last of which was stealing 2 million Yemeni Riyals in Khour Maxar. Confessions indicated that they distributed tasks before the operation as one of them choses the victim who is usually receiving a large sum of money from a bank or exchange company. Other members follow the victim with two cars waiting for his to leave the car to have a meal or to buy Qat. One member breaks the car window and steals the money, usually hiden under the driver’s seat of back seats. Other members cover up the robbery with their bodies or cars.
Arresting this band is a major achievement for Khour Maxar police department and Aden Police Department as the band initiated several operations in Aden. It is noteworthy that Khour Maxar police followed members of the band in several areas in Aden after identifying their hiding places and arrested them all. They are now under initial interrogation before turning them out to concerned judicial bodies.
