Arrest of Weapons Smugglers at Al-Alam Security Checkpoint in Aden
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Aden – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Al-Alam Security Checkpoint, under commandership of colonel Kamal Al-Halemi commander of Al-Mansoura sector, confiscated several pieces of weapons in possession of a man and a woman.
An official source indicated that at 9:00 am on Thursday August 23rd, 2018, a man driving a Hi-Lux van tried to pass through the checkpoint, with a woman accompanying him. They were coming from Lodar – Abian and heading to Aden. According to orders of commander Al-Halemi, the man and woman were asked to descend for check but the man refused to obey orders saying that his wife is in the car and she should not be checked. Soldiers told him that she would be checked by a female police officer and checking is a standard procedure for their safety.
Female police officers discovered that the woman was sitting on a huge number of weapons hidden under her chair in a way as if they were trying to smuggle it into Aden. When the accused were confronted with weapons they collapsed and confessed. Immediately after that, they were transferred, with confiscated weapons, to Aden police department.
The source indicated that there will be no tolerance with anyone who tries to disturb the security and stability of Aden through smuggling weapons and appreciated the alertness of Al-Alam security checkpoint and bravery of its soldiers in addition to high level or readiness of female police officers.
