Assessment discussion of women’s needs between the National Committee for Women and the United Nations in Aden the capital

A coordination meeting was held on Wednesday, at the headquarters of the National Committee for Women, headed by Dr. Shafiqa Saeed, and the representative of UN Women, Ms. Dina Zorba.

Shafiqa Saeed welcomed Ms. Dina Zorba’s visit to the headquarters of the National Committee for Women, expressing her optimism about her presence in Yemen as a resident representative of UN Women, stressing the importance of continuous and effective partnership in implementing activities that contribute to improving the situation of women, in which Saeed also reviewed the challenges facing the committee and the status of women’s departments of ministries and governorates, especially in light of the unstable circumstances the country is going through.

For her part, Ms. Dina Zorba expressed her happiness with this meeting and its importance in supporting the National Committee for Women, as it is the official mechanism concerned with women’s issues at the governmental level, explaining the importance of working with civil society and concerned parties.

The meeting discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the Committee and UN Women in serving women’s issues, and discussed proposals for activities that the Committee seeks to implement and the mechanism for activating policies and assessing women’s needs.
