Baoum meets with the Southern Independent Anti-Corruption Commission and the Southern Anti-Corruption Organization

The member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Mr. Fadi Baoum, met on Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, with representatives of the Southern Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (SIAC) and the Southern Anti-Corruption Organization (SAO).

At the beginning of the meeting, Baoum reviewed the results of the recent meetings he held with entities and organizations interested in transparency and anti-corruption, conveying to them the greetings and support of President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi to form the Civil Alliance for Transparency and Anti-Corruption and all efforts aimed at combating corruption.

Baoum urged those present to unite their efforts in dismantling the system of corruption left by the occupation, reiterating his confidence that the South will prevail in its fateful battle against corruption.

The meeting also discussed preparations for the announcement of the Civil Alliance for Transparency and Anti-Corruption and the importance of civil society organizations assuming their national responsibility and unifying their efforts to uproot and eliminate corruption from the south.

The meeting stressed that transparency and combating corruption are essential requirements for achieving economic stability, and working to reform the financial and administrative system of civil state institutions in the south, pointing out the heavy burdens of corruption on the economy and the necessity of creating mechanisms that work to enhance responsibility and accountability.

In turn, the attendees welcomed the efforts made by the Southern Transitional Council and its support and sponsorship of the organizations founding the Civil Alliance, stressing their joining of the efforts aimed at combating corruption within the framework of the Civil Alliance.
