Baoum praises participation of Hadrami women in various stages of the southern struggle

Member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Mr. Fadi Baoum, met on Monday, in the capital, Aden, with a delegation that included a number of women from the Hadramaut Valley participating in the founding conference of the Southern Women’s Union.

In the meeting, Baoum welcomed all those present, listening to a number of issues, including what the next stage requires in light of the success of the founding conference of the Southern Women’s Union, the importance of activating the role of women in Wadi Hadramaut, and expanding communication and work with women’s sectors in a way that serves the cause of the South.

During the meeting, Baoum confirmed that the Hadhramaut Valley receives great attention from the Presidency of the Transitional Council and from President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi in particular.

Baoum praised the active presence of women in Wadi Hadramaut and their active participation in the various stages of the southern struggle, as they embodied their tangible national role and their role has become clearly evident since the start of the southern revolution in 2007 at all organizational and union levels.

In turn, the women’s delegation appreciated the meeting with Mr. Baoum, and his interest in the general situation in Wadi Hadramaut, the situation of women there in particular, and his listening to their concerns.

The delegation reaffirmed that the oppression and terrorism that women suffer from at the hands of the forces of the First Military District in the Valley will not deter them from continuing their just demands and taking away their rights and sovereignty over their land.
