Ben Brik Meets with STC’s Supreme Economic Committee

Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, acting in charge of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and the chairman of the National Assembly met on Wednesday with members of the STC’s Supreme Economic Committee (SEC).

At the beginning of the meeting, Major General Ben Brik conveyed the greetings of President Aidarous bin Qassim Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, expressing his happiness to meet this constellation of specialists in the fields of economy, development, and strategic planning, as the South relies on their expertise and professional skills to reflect the ideas, plans, and visions on the ground.

During the meeting, Major General Ben Brik reviewed the experience of the previous Autonomous Administration and the need to study and benefit from that experience in all fields to move the wheel of development, boost the economy, and address service problems.

The meeting discussed the military, political, economic, and service developments, defining a joint action mechanism for the upcoming period, the vision of the SEC on the current economic situation, and its role in this pivotal stage, by finding ways to develop effective economic solutions that would limit the deterioration and boost the economy in the governorates of the South to alleviate the distress of citizens.

The meeting affirmed that the stage requires concerted efforts to accomplish tasks and conduct economic and financial studies to ensure resource development and improve citizens’ lives.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Ali, Head of the SEC, reviewed the role the Committee in providing visions and consultations in all economic, financial and monetary aspects.

To the end of the meeting, Major General Ben Brik listened to the interventions and observations of members of the SEC, who affirm open-ended meetings with the leadership of the STC, due to the positive impact on improving performance and providing the required consultations.
