Ben Brik Receives Head of ICRC Mission in Aden the Capital

Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), received today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Assembly Mr. Boukley, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in the capital, Aden.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint coordination and coordination between the STC and ICRC mission, which would enable the latter to continue its humanitarian and awareness-raising work.

Major General Ben Brik praised the role of the ICRC and its unlimited support in the past period, affirming the keenness of the STC led by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and his directives to ease the work of the international humanitarian and relief organizations, like the ICRC and organizations affiliated with the United Nations, that operate in the capital Aden and the rest of the governorates of the South in all various fields, especially the health and relief aspects.

For his part, the head of the ICRC mission in the capital, Aden, offered thanks to Major General Ben Brik for the warm reception, giving a satisfied explanation of the mission’s work and its readiness to do its best to serve the people and continue to meet the necessary needs as much as possible, focusing on the most important and urgent humanitarian aspects, and lauding the role and support of the STC to facilitate the work of the ICRC as well as the remaining international organizations concerned with humanitarian affairs.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmed Qassem, Office Director of the Chairman of the National Assembly, and Mr. Baha’a Al-Sallami, assistant head and political advisor of the ICRC in the capital, Aden.
