Ben Brik Receives Secretary General of Geneva Call

Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), received, on Monday, at the headquarters of the Assembly, Mr. Alain Deletroz, General Director of Geneva Call organization, and Mr. Mohammed Hasan, Country Director of the organization.

In the meeting, which was attended by lawyer Niran Souqi, member of STC’s Presidency, deputy chairman of the National Assembly, Major General Ben Brik has lauded the active role of Geneva Call in the South, in providing aid to citizens and protecting civilians in armed conflicts, then he delivered a satisfied explanation of the latest developments both on the southern arena, and the entire region, including the political and military conflicts, that have contributed to prolonging the war.

The meeting touched on certain excerpts of Riyadh consultations that have resulted in the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council and the actions resulted from these consultations.

Major General Ahmed Saeed highlighted that the STC welcomes active organizations, either governmental or non-governmental ones, to work together on achieving public interest of the country.

For his part, Mr. Alain thanked Major General Ben Brik for the good reception and transparent presentation in clarifying the course of events, and discussed with him the upcoming steps that will be implemented in the process of building-capacities, either in Aden governorate or the other governorates that will beneficially be reflected on all.

The meeting also discussed several topics related to training and qualifying of the targeted orientations in programs of the organization and urged on expanding its work to include all governorates and areas of the South.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah Ba-Suhaib, head of the Human Rights Committee in the National Assembly, Dr. Najla Al-Saadi, in charge of Humanitarian Relief in the Assembly, and Mr. Ahmed Qassem, Office Director of the chairman of the Assembly.
