Chairman of National Assembly: We are keen to pay attention to the role of southern women in various fields
Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, affirmed the keenness of the National Assembly to the important role that southern women play in various fields, noting that women have an active role and special place in the committees of the National Assembly with leadership positions in them.
This came in the meeting organized by the Women and Children Committee in the National Assembly headed by Aisha bin Talib, and was attended by a group of women from various organizations and political and social components.
The Chairman of the National Assembly stressed on the need to allow women to access decision-making positions alongside men, recalling the active role of southern women in the past in the south when the system was institutionalized by laws that respect human rights and equal between women and men in productive and service work in various areas of thought and creativity, which made the south an advanced and developed society, and one of the first Arab countries to establish the foundations of democratic life and social justice.
The attendees expressed their pleasure to meet, listen, and discuss the latest developments in the southern arena and the political situation, with the Chairman of the National Assembly.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Suhair Ali Ahmed, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Dr. Jacqueline Battani, Chairperson and Vice-President of the Social Affairs Committee Dr. Asmaa Ahmad, and Nadra Abdul Quddus, Vice- President of the Information Committee.
