Chairman of the National Assembly Meets Executive Director of the YPC

Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), received, on Monday, at the headquarters of the Assembly, met Eng. Tariq Abdullah Mansour, the executive Director of the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC),

The meeting, which was attended by lawyer Niran Souqi, member of the STC’s Presidency and deputy chairman of the Assembly, discussed difficulties encountering the company, in light of the economic changes, situation of the local market, level of providing and securing petroleum-based products to the market, global increase in prices and reflections on the local market, which have exacerbated the burdens on citizens in the whole South.

The meeting also discussed the ways leading to providing petroleum-based products to the market, securing compliance with the global prices, and added financial charges.

For his part, Major General Ahmed Saeed highly counted on the cooperation of all, in respect of the petroleum-based products, to alleviate its burdens on the people, who can bear no more overburdensome, with necessity to gain a certain lowering from taxes and customs duties to ease and reduce the current exorbitant prices.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdul-Fattah Al-Abed, Advisor to the chairman of the Assembly, and Mr. Ahmed Qassem, Office Director of the chairman of the Assembly.
