The following is the statement of the demonstration:

Our brave citizens of Al-Cotton and Hadhramaut Valley:

This demonstration, called for by STC local leadership of Al-Cotton, includes all sectors of the society and denounces these barbaric acts of Hady Temira’s battalion.

All patriotic powers of Al-Cotton, Hadhramaut and the whole south denounce these provocative non-ethical acts of attacking STC headquarters and robbing humanitarian aids allocated for martyrs’ and injured families in addition to furniture of the headquarters and hitting and arresting humanitarian workers and citizens who were released later due to the interference of general director of Al-Cotton.

In response to these vicious acts that are away from all Hadhramauti traditions, we consider them as act of war and robbery by an army that is supposed to protect citizens. We also consider them as humiliation of Hadhramauti dignity and we reject them all. Therefore, we assert the following:

  1. All that is robbed of humanitarian aids should be returned as soon as possible
  2. All that is robbed of the headquarters furniture should be returned as soon as possible and such acts should not be repeated again.
  3. All those who were involved in these acts should be punished
  4. The military forces stationed in the governorate should leave and be replaced by another one from sons of Al-Cotton
  5. In case these demands are not considered, we will escalate as the conditions may take.

We would like to thank general director of Al-Cotton and local authority as they showed support for arrested citizens and initiated all necessary communications to release them. we would like also to thank you all for your response to our call.
