Concerns about Al-Houthis Being Armored with Civilians in Al-Hodeida

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Al-Hodeida – Report – Khaled Shouba[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Along with major advances of Southern Giants Brigades and Joint Troops, with backup of Arab Coalition Troops, especially UAE, in Al-Hodeida, Al-Houthi militias started to concern about its domination over this major Yemeni governorate. Despite introvert, isolated, peaceful and humble life of civilians in this major costal governorate, Al-Houthis’ arrogant and threatening way of treatment forced many of them, whose unfortunate conditions prevented them from escape, to keep up with current military developments. Some of them turned into Houthis for several reasons including their daily life needs, living conditions, death threats and even money persuasion. These factors led many to surrender to the current de facto.
Despite severe mystery that covers the city downtown, information from there indicate that Al-Houthis are digging trenches and establishing barracks in addition to blocking roads and main streets with cement blocks and hiding inside populated homes in residential districts. Local citizens even expressed their fears for their homes being targeted by joint troops and Arab Coalition air forces as Al-Houthis stationed snipers on houses’ roofs, especially high buildings, while preventing civilians from leaving these places.
As expected, Al-Houthis prevented civilians from leaving the city while their militants are stationed inside residential areas using citizens as human shields to protect themselves. In addition, local citizens indicated that Al-Houthis implanted land mines inside their residential parameters ignoring the fatal danger of such acts.
