Construction work begins at Sheikh Zayed Station 7, east of Socotra

Eng. Raafat Al-Thaqali, Governor of Socotra archipelago, on Sunday, launched construction work on the “Sheikh Zayed 7” power station on the eastern coast, with the support of Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Work.
The station project will make benefit to a large number of residential areas along the eastern coast, with a length exceeding 20 km.
During the inauguration, Al-Thaqali pointed out the importance of the project, similar to previous projects in the energy sector in the archipelago, to provide electricity service to the areas of the eastern coast, as a necessity for development and improving living conditions.
The Governor of Socotra praised the continued support of Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation, the efforts of its president, Khalfan Al Mazrouei, and his interest in the archipelago and its development, expressing his appreciation for the solidarity of the tribes of the eastern regions and their cooperation for public projects.
