Consultation and Reconciliation Commission confirms support for peace efforts

The Consultation and Reconciliation Commission held its meeting on Tuesday, via video conference, chaired by the Chairman of the Commission, Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, in which the meeting included a briefing on developments in the mediation efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to stabilize the armistice and start a comprehensive political process.
The commission affirmed its support for peace efforts to restore institutions and resolve key issues, foremost of which is the issue of the South, and expressed appreciation for the keenness of the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve peace and stability, calling for the joint negotiating delegation to start its tasks.
The meeting praised the mediation efforts led by the Arab coalition countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council, led by Saudi Arabia, to find a comprehensive political process, noting the innocent people’s need for a just, comprehensive and lasting peace, in which everyone achieves their legitimate political aspirations through negotiation and dialogue.
The Commission decided to submit a number of recommendations to the Presidential Leadership Council, regarding the progress of the political process, pursuant to the Commission’s role in supporting the Presidential Leadership Council.
The meeting also discussed a number of proposals submitted by members of the Commission.
