Coordinative Commission of the Public Campaigns of Anti-Drugs Awareness Rising in Hadhramaut Discusses Arrangements of Launching the Campaign

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Hadhramaut – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Coordinative Commission of the Public Campaigns of Anti-Drugs Awareness Rising in Hadhramaut held its preliminary meeting in the Women’s Union Hall in Hadhramaut. The campaign is initiated by SMA Organization of Awareness Rising and Rationalization in partnership with NGOs, governmental agencies, activists and media men. The meeting discussed the arrangements for launching the campaign.
Khaled Abu Bakr Belhaj, chairman of SMA News in Hadhramaut and supervisor of the campaign, started the meeting with calling all sectors of the society to participate in the campaign indicating that drugs are the main cause behind high rates of crime in Hadhramaut. He added that the goal of the campaign is to establish sustainable awareness about the risks of drugs including Hashish and Qat in addition to fortifying the immunity of Hadhramauti Community against such drugs. He also indicated that security systems alone can not fight drugs as this war demands unification of all efforts to establish a flourishing future for upcoming generations. Samira Ba Dawi, campaign coordinator, explained the objectives and program of the campaign.
After thorough discussions, several commissions were formed including a supervisory commission headed by Khaled Belhaj, a media commission headed by students of “Hope Patch” in department of Media and Journalism – Faculty of Arts, a field commission supervised by volunteering teams, NGOs and forums, and a coordinative commission for monitoring and public relations. All commissions will work in along the directorates of Hadhramaut at the valley and coast. The meeting also discussed the establishment of a new branch for SMA Organization of Awareness Rising and Rationalization in Hadhramaut, to be declared during the upcoming days.
