Council of Advisors of STC stands before the service and educational situation

The Administrative Body of the Southern Advisory Council of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting for the month of February on Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, headed by Mr. Ahmed Al-Rubaizi, Vice President of the Council of Advisors.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Administrative Body of the Council of Advisors expressed its happiness with the return of President Aidarous Qasim Al-Zubaidi to the homeland, and his commencement of the meeting with the leaders of the Council and the ministerial committee tasked with solving the problem of providing the Electricity Corporation with the necessary funding for operation during the month of Ramadan, as well as his meeting with representatives of the Southern Workers’ Unions and his pledge to work to meet their demands and solve their various problems, which represents a solution to the economic and service crises that have affected citizens in the capital, Aden, and the southern governorates.

The meeting reviewed the service performance report presented by Eng. Mohammed Mohsen, Chairman of the Advisory Committee for Services Affairs, discussing the most prominent activities carried out by the committee during the months of January and February 2025, which focused on monitoring the current situation in a number of service institutions in the capital and various southern governorates, monitoring corruption hotbeds therein, and making a number of proposals for treatments and needs.

The meeting discussed the work report of the Advisory Committee for Education Affairs presented by the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Salem Al-Salfi, explaining the preparation of the draft general education strategy in the south, stressing the importance of the contribution of the committee members in preparing this strategy, and pointed out that general education is the starting point for comprehensive positive change in southern society and consolidating its identity. The report also included a number of recommendations aimed at raising the level of education, the most important of which is raising teachers’ income to ensure the stability of the educational process, as well as reformulating some curricula and books that include some points that conflict with the components of the southern identity.

The Administrative Body listened in its meeting to the report of the Advisory Committee for Addressing Tribal Revenge and Disputes, presented by the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Sheikh Saleh Mohsen Al-Yazidi, including the activities of the Committee in various southern governorates, regarding resolving a number of revenge cases in their governorates and their contribution to resolving many tribal disputes, in addition to recommendations to hold a southern national conference in the capital, Aden, for positions, sheikhs, leaders, dignitaries and civil society organizations to announce the Charter of Honor and the Southern Covenant among segments and categories of society to criminalize tribal revenge and end societal disputes and sign it under the auspices of President Commander Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.

At the end of its meeting, the Administrative Body stood before the report on the level of job discipline of the cadre of the Administrative Body of the Council of Advisors during the current month of February 2025 AD, in addition to reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting and approving it, taking into account the observations and suggestions.
