Declaring trade union committees in press and media institutions in the capital, Aden

The Syndicate of Southern Journalists and Media Professionals organized in its branch at the capital, Aden, on Thursday, at the Syndicate’s headquarters in Al-Tawahi district, and in the presence of the President of the Southern Journalists Syndicate, Aidaroos Bahashwan, and the participation of a group of journalists and media professionals.

At the declaration ceremony, the Captain Bahashwan confirmed that trade union committees act as a link between the trade union and the cadres and workers in the media institutions in the capital, Aden, noting, “The formation of trade union committees in press institutions is an important and auxiliary factor in organizing trade union work and comes as an implementation of the outputs of the trade union’s general conference in January of current year, which was stipulated in its statute the permissibility of forming committees and press associations.

Abdul Karim Al-Shaabi, head of the Southern Journalists Syndicate Council of Aden branch, said that the declaration of “the union committees in press and media institutions comes as a continuation of the organizational structure of the Southern Journalists and Media Professionals Syndicate and in implementation of the outputs of the first general conference that was held in the beginning of this year.”
