Department of Human Rights of the Southern Transitional Council Concludes a Workshop about Fostering Human Rights Culture among NGOs and Youth
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Adan – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] On Monday, February 19th, 2018, Department of Human Rights of the Southern Transitional Council concluding a workshop titled ” Fostering Human Rights Culture among NGOs and Youth”. The workshop, held in Adan, started last Saturday for three days with participation of 20 young activists in NGOs. The workshop presented several topics concerning concepts of human rights and its historic sources in addition to terms of human rights included in international laws and conventions. Participants were introduced to UN standards of protecting human rights, its tools and activities, types of violations and stages of joining treaties and conventions by countries. In addition, the workshop provided lessons about domestic violence and how to treat such violations. At the end of the workshop, participants were introduced to ethical conduct of human rights workers. The workshop included detailed discussions and video presentations about the same topics. The workshop was held as part of the efforts of human rights department to spread human rights culture in all sectors of the society.
