Department of Studies and Researches in the General Secretariat discusses ways of cooperation with Abyan University

The Department of Studies and Researches in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, represented by Dr. Mohammed Jaafar Bin Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr, on Thursday, visited the University of Abyan.

Bin Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr was accompanied on his visit by Mr. Aboud Naji, deputy head of the department, where they were received by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Maysari, President of Abyan University, and Dr. Mahmoud Ali Atef, Secretary-General of the University, Head of the Expatriates Department in the National Assembly, and Dr. Yeslam Baleel Alawi Taher, head of Coordinating of the Transitional Council at Abyan University, in addition to a number of colleges deans and members of the coordinating.

During the visit, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Maisari and Dr. Mahmoud Ali Atef presented an explanation about the university’s components, its academic composition, its scientific and academic plans, and its achievements in the field of scientific research, studies, and scientific and literary publications since its founding, in addition to the extent of the destruction and damage imposed to the university’s buildings and contents, and the looting of the university’s library, with its books, references and scientific periodicals.

The meeting discussed ways of coordinating research efforts between the Department of Studies and Researches and Abyan University, working to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of studies and scientific research, reviewing the activities of research centers, exchanging information and experiences, and establishing partnerships in research work and scientific studies.

For his part, Dr. Mohammad Jaafar, Head of the Studies and Researches Department in the General Secretariat, expressed his great happiness and his companions and their gratitude for visiting Abyan University and meeting with the leadership of the University and the deans of the faculties, praising the great efforts made by the university presidency and its educational body in advancing the university in a very exceptional situation, stressing the importance of research works and scientific studies in partnership with scientific and academic institutions in order to get our homeland the South out of its crises and problems based on science, knowledge and scientific research.
